Your Role:

As a
Spanish Bilingual Patient Account Representative II
, you will:

  • Perform detailed insurance verification for outpatient and in-office procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking patients to explain coverage details, authorization requirements, and out-of-pocket estimates.
  • Identify and flag non-covered services or potential coordination of benefits issues.
  • Initiate and follow up on prior authorization requests, including appeals if necessary.
  • Maintain organized tracking logs for authorizations and coverage status.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource to Patient Account Representative I staff.
  • Work insurance queues to resolve pre-service issues that may delay care.
  • Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure accurate scheduling for covered services.
  • Report payer trends or systematic verification issues to leadership.

What You Need:

Non-negotiables

  • Fluency in
    Spanish and English
    (verbal and written).
  • Associate's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a medical office or insurance verification role.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, government, and exchange-based insurance plans.
  • Proficient in verifying coverage for high-cost services (e.g., imaging, injections, procedures).
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred).

Preferred skills/expertise

  • Experience handling insurance verification for U.S.-based healthcare providers.
  • Ability to handle patient communications with empathy and professionalism in both Spanish and English.
