About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Draftsperson/Estimator to join our client's residential construction team based in Western Australia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential drafting and estimating, with commercial project experience considered a valuable advantage. You will be responsible for producing accurate design documentation, assisting in cost estimation, and supporting the overall design and build process in compliance with Australian building codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed design drawings, documentation, and plans using Revit for residential projects (commercial experience a plus).
  • Develop accurate cost estimates and assist with project tenders and material take-offs.
  • Collaborate with builders, architects, and engineers to ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret architectural and engineering plans, applying Australian building codes and construction standards.
  • Prepare documentation suitable for council and construction approval stages.
  • Contribute to design development by providing creative and practical input.
  • Manage multiple projects efficiently, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support rendering tasks or coordinate with external rendering providers as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and external consultants to ensure project clarity and delivery.

Key Requirements

· Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in Australian residential construction industry.

· Proficiency in Revit is essential.

· Experience in rendering (any software) is required, though rendering tasks may be outsourced.

· Excellent understanding of Australian building codes, construction standards, and local compliance requirements.

· Must present a portfolio of past projects demonstrating drafting and design capabilities for Australian residential projects.

· Strong communication and listening skills.

· Demonstrated creativity and ability to translate client concepts into practical designs.

· Commitment to quality, deadlines, and team collaboration.
