The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations – Outbound is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all outbound activities within the warehouse, including order picking, packing, staging, loading, and dispatch. This role ensures timely, accurate, and cost-effective fulfillment of customer orders while maintaining safety, compliance, and high service levels.

Key ResponsibilitiesOutbound Operations Management

  • Supervise daily outbound operations including order picking, packing, labeling, and loading.
  • Ensure orders are processed accurately and shipped on time to meet customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with logistics/transportation teams for scheduling and dispatch.
  • Monitor outbound KPIs such as order accuracy, on-time dispatch, and productivity.

People Supervision & Development

  • Lead, train, and motivate warehouse associates in outbound functions.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to SOPs.
  • Manage shift schedules, attendance, and resolve workforce issues.
  • Promote teamwork and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with warehouse safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and enforce use of PPE.
  • Monitor and maintain housekeeping standards in outbound areas.
  • Support audits and ensure proper documentation of outbound activities.

Process & Inventory Control

  • Oversee outbound inventory movements, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO).
  • Coordinate with inventory and inbound teams to resolve stock discrepancies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
  • Support implementation of warehouse management systems (WMS) and automation.

Reporting & Communication

  • Maintain accurate records of outbound shipments, documentation, and compliance logs.
  • Generate daily/weekly outbound performance reports.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (customer service, planning, transport).
  • Escalate operational issues to Warehouse/Operations Manager with recommended solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree/diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse/distribution operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of outbound logistics, order fulfillment, and WMS/ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety, compliance, and quality standards in warehousing.
