You're Role as an Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring all financial reporting and statutory compliance functions are performed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Philippine accounting standards, tax laws, and internal policies. This role manages the general ledger, coordinates month-end closing procedures, supervises the accounting staff, and supports the Finance Manager and the Global CFO in financial analysis and strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting**

• Manage the General Ledger: Oversee the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring proper chart of accounts maintenance, journal entry review, and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Direct the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules for executive review.
• Manage daily cash flow, banking relationships, and petty cash systems.
• Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
• Fixed Assets: Manage the fixed asset system, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposal processes.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all internal controls, company policies, and external financial regulations.

*Treasury and Operations*

• Manage daily cash flow, banking relationships, and petty cash systems.
• Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.
• Monitor and review asset capitalization, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers.

*Compliance and Audit*

• Ensure strict compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and company accounting policies.
• Manage the preparation and timely submission of all required reports to Philippine regulatory bodies, including the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) (e.g., VAT, EWT, Income Tax, etc.), SEC, and other relevant agencies.
• Coordinate and manage the external audit process by preparing audit schedules, liaising with external auditors, and ensuring all queries are resolved promptly.

*Management & Leadership*

• Staff Supervision: Manage, mentor, and train the accounting team (e.g., staff accountants, accounts payable/receivable clerks). Conduct performance reviews and foster a high-performing work environment.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Interdepartmental Liaison: Collaborate with other departments to ensure transactions are properly recorded and support operational needs.

*Required Education and Experience:*

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification (e.g., CMA) is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Solid experience managing a complete month-end and year-end close process.

*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*

• Technical Accounting: Expert knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS/PFRS
• ERP/Systems Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Xero) and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial data to non-financial stakeholders and senior management.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop an accounting team effectively.

*Working Conditions*

• Primarily performed in a standard office environment.
• May require extended hours during peak reporting periods (month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close).
