The Chief Mechanic is responsible for leading the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of all company vehicles and equipment, including heavy machinery, service trucks, and generators. This role requires hands-on expertise in mechanical, electrical, and air-conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of all assets. The Chief Mechanic supervises a team of mechanics and technicians, manages preventive maintenance schedules, and ensures compliance with safety and operational standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of diesel and gasoline engines, heavy equipment, and service vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical wiring, alternators, batteries, and starter systems.
  • Service and troubleshoot vehicle air-conditioning systems and refrigeration units.
  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Lead a team of mechanics and allocate repair tasks efficiently.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, monitor spare parts inventory, and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Provide technical training and mentoring to junior mechanics and technicians.
  • Support fleet inspections and readiness for deployment to project sites.
