SAP ABAP Developer

Role Description

The company is looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer (Lead Role) to join its growing team. This role is critical in leading ABAP development across SAP modules, managing a team of developers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable technical solutions across ECC, S/4HANA, and Cloud environments.

This is a full-time hybrid position based in Pasig City, with flexibility for remote work.

Technical Leadership & Development Oversight

• Lead ABAP development across multiple SAP modules (FI, MM, SD, PP, etc.)
• Oversee technical design, coding, unit testing, and deployment of ABAP developments
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to SAP best practices
• Champion Object-Oriented ABAP, Clean Core principles, and modern S/4HANA development standards
• Design and implement strategic technical solutions to enhance and optimize business processes

Team Management & Mentorship

• Lead and mentor Junior to Mid-level ABAP Developers (minimum 2–3 years leadership experience)
• Provide technical guidance, performance feedback, and career development support
• Manage workload distribution, task assignments, and resource allocation

Project Delivery & Client Engagement

• Collaborate with Business and Functional Consultants to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Participate in blueprinting, solution design, and delivery sessions
• Ensure complete documentation (Technical Specs, Unit Test Cases, Code Review Logs, etc.)
• Monitor development progress to meet deadlines and budget expectations

Pre-Sales & Innovation

• Support RFP/RFI responses and proposal development with sales and solution teams
• Contribute to technical decks, effort estimations, and client presentations
• Recommend and implement innovative SAP solutions leveraging:
• CDS Views, AMDP, RAP
• Fiori/UI5 integration
• SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

Quality Assurance & Governance

• Establish ABAP development standards and reusable libraries
• Ensure compliance with performance, security, and audit requirements
• Lead initiatives for code optimization, reuse, and simplification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
• 8+ years of SAP Development experience (ECC & S/4HANA) with at least 4 full-cycle implementations
• 2+ years of ABAP development team leadership experience
• Expert-level knowledge of ABAP on S/4HANA including AMDP, CDS Views, BOPF, OData, and SAP Gateway
• Strong experience with User Exits, BADIs, Enhancement Spots, module pool programming, and data migration (BDC, BAPI, IDOC, LTMC)
• Proficient in Adobe Forms, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, and ALV/classical reports
• Experience with REST-based services, API design, and code optimization tools (ATC, Code Inspector)
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced global delivery environment

Nice to Have

• SAP Fiori/SAPUI5 development
• BRF+ / Output Management
• Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and Business AI
