Sub-Structure Engineer

Qualifications:

  1. Licensed Civil Engineer with 5 years minimum good experienced in construction of railway and bridge foundations particularly substructure.

  2. Positive personality towards work and able to work effectively among the team.

  3. Can work under pressure and able to review Contractor submissions related to foundation and other substructure items. (Shop drawing, Method Statement, MAR, SAR etc.,)

  4. Must be assertive and firm in dealing with the Contractor for our quality and safety concerns.

  5. Preferably with experience in the Aconex system procedures that is very important in checking the status of submissions from the Contractor and other official correspondences.

  6. Helps the ARE and SRE in providing proper assistance and guidance to the Structure Inspectors under his/her scope of works.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Support the Senior Resident Engineer for smooth implementation of the project for all the design and construction issues related to Civil sub-structure design.

  2. Review all the detailed civil sub-structural design and re-design from detailed designers or proposed by contractors through RFI.

  3. Support the Senior Resident Engineer to review Contractor's civil sub-structure related

Method Statement and Construction plans.

  1. Review all contractor's submitted shop drawing related to civil-substructure : bored piles, pile caps, pier columns/pier heads.

  2. Attend the periodical site surveillance/inspection during construction and the defects liability period to resolve any civil subs-structure design and construction issues arising.
