Your Role

As an AU Officer- Expediting, you are responsible for:

Safety

  • Ensure all work complies with Telfer procedures, policies, and safe systems of work
  • Conduct risk assessments, implement controls, and address unsafe conditions before commencing tasks
  • Verify personnel are authorised, qualified, and competent to perform allocated tasks
  • Promote a safety-first culture through correct PPE use, safe operation of plant and equipment, and active participation in site safety initiatives
  • Attend toolbox meetings, communicate concerns, and adjust behaviours in line with agreed outcomes

Technical

  • Provide logistics support to operations and maintenance, ensuring parts and materials are delivered on time and cost-effectively
  • Monitor and expedite vendor performance to prevent delays
  • Support shutdown maintenance by ensuring timely delivery of goods and materials
  • Manage rotable items, including stock levels, RFQs, and purchase orders
  • Review weekly work plans and advise on parts availability for fixed plant maintenance
  • Resolve parked invoices in collaboration with AP and Purchasing teams
  • Assist departments with freight enquiries and inventory control
  • Recommend inventory changes and cost-saving opportunities

People

  • Uphold company policies and ethical standards in all actions
  • Collaborate across departments, supporting team outcomes and colleagues
  • Report concerns or unclear matters to the Supervisor
  • Take ownership of daily work requirements and communicate progress effectively

Planning & Scheduling

  • Contribute to swing handovers and planning processes
  • Participate in maintenance planning and provide input to optimise schedules

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years' experience in supply/logistics within mining, minerals, processing, oil & gas, or heavy industries
  • Proficient in SAP warehouse management and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, procurement, expediting, and inventory control
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and site personnel
