Staff AccountantRoles and Responsibilities

  • Conduct semiannual internal audits of policies and procedures at all company warehouse locations and headquarters, including oversight of warehouse safety.
  • Prepare written audit reports for Senior Management and monitor activities related to prior audit findings.
  • Assist in and collect requested documentation for quarterly and annual external audits.
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries, including month-end accruals.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Participate in annual inventory counts and request/analyze monthly inventory cycle counts across all warehouse locations.
  • Prepare corporate state sales and use tax returns.
  • Prepare and submit required government reporting, including BEA and U.S. Census Bureau filings.
  • Distribute profit and loss statements to external management.
  • Reconcile daily cash collections, including checks, credit cards, ACH, and wire transactions.
  • Manage a $1.5M distributor account, including payment collection and invoicing.
  • Research and correct account discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare quarterly commission reports for sales representatives.
  • Provide accounting assistance to operational and sales personnel.
  • Prepare, distribute, and analyze revenue, cost, and sales reports as needed.
  • Prepare reports and analysis of advertising spend.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA or similar certification is a plus.

A Successful Candidate Must Have

  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial forecasting, and general ledger management.
  • Proven ability to conduct and manage internal audits and compliance reviews.

Proficient With

  • Microsoft Excel (advanced level: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling).
  • Microsoft PowerPoint for financial reporting presentations.
  • Oracle or other ERP systems.

Experience Advantage

  • Experience in a Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) environment, with strong control and compliance awareness.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask in a high-demand setting.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
