Position Overview:
The HR Associate in Compensation & Benefits plays a key role in supporting the administration of employee compensation and benefits programs. This position involves tasks like analyzing and evaluating compensation structures, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations such as SSS, PhilHealth, PAG-IBIG, and BIR, managing employee benefit programs (including medical, retirement plans, and other benefits), and responding to employee inquiries regarding compensation and benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Compensation Management:
- Develop and manage compensation programs, including salary structures, bonuses, and incentive schemes.
- Process referral incentives, funeral assistance, and other monetary benefits for entitled employees.
- Calculate final or separation pay for employees who leave or opt for early retirement.
- Enter salary adjustments and leave credits for payroll purposes.
- Track and audit leave credits, and compute cash conversions and hospital accounts offsets in a timely manner.
Benefits Administration:
- Ensure timely filing and processing of SSS benefits, including sickness, employee compensation (EC) claims, maternity/paternity claims, and other government-related benefits to prevent delays.
- Review and approve SSS salary and calamity loans through the SSS employer portal.
- Prepare and post necessary documentation and certifications for SSS, PhilHealth, and PAG-IBIG contributions and loans.
- Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
- Evaluate and propose improvements to benefits programs to enhance employee satisfaction and cost-efficiency.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all new hires are reported monthly to SSS and PhilHealth via ER2 and the SSS employer portal (R1a).
- Prepare and submit required reports to PSA and DOLE, including 13th month pay and the Annual Medical Report (AMR).
- Generate statutory benefits reports and any other required documentation.
- Produce monthly reports and data analytics to support company goals.
- Maintain accurate records of compensation and benefits data.
Program Evaluation:
- Monitor the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs and recommend improvements.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Employee Communication:
- Develop and deliver communication materials to educate employees about compensation and benefits.
- Assist employees with compensation and benefits concerns, offering cost-effective solutions and timely feedback.
Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with the HR team, Audit, Accounting, and leadership to align compensation and benefits strategies with business goals.
- Contribute to recruitment and retention by ensuring competitive compensation and benefits packages.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes in compensation and benefits.
- Suggest and implement improvements to keep programs competitive and effective.
Qualifications:
Educational Attainment:
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, or a related Behavioral Science field.
Skills/Eligibility:
- In-depth knowledge of government-mandated benefits.
- Strong understanding of relevant laws and legislation.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in compensation and benefits.
Other Requirements:
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace.
