Job description:

A site electrical engineer designs, implements, and oversees electrical systems on construction sites, ensuring installations meet safety standards and project requirements. Key responsibilities include preparing drawings and specifications, managing electrical installations, collaborating with other project stakeholders, troubleshooting electrical issues, and conducting site-specific maintenance and quality assurance for various electrical components and systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Planning: Prepare electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documents for site electrical systems.
  • Installation Supervision: Oversee the installation of electrical equipment, components, and systems on-site.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure all electrical installations adhere to relevant industry codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with architects, project managers, contractors, and other engineers to integrate electrical systems into the overall construction plan.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and expertise to site teams, assisting with troubleshooting electrical issues and resolving complex problems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and review documentation, including test reports, commissioning documents, and handover materials.
  • Equipment Management: Assist with the procurement of electrical machinery and equipment and participate in the evaluation of tender documents for electrical services.
  • On-Site Maintenance: Oversee and participate in the testing, maintenance, and inspection plans for electrical equipment and systems on the project site.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is a standard requirement.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in designing and implementing electrical systems and a strong understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering software for creating drawings and analyzing systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges encountered on-site.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage projects and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
