Formworks Engineer – Job Description

Position Summary:

The Formworks Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of formwork systems used in concrete structures. This role ensures that all formwork designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with project specifications and standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review formwork design drawings, layout plans, and detailed shop drawings.
  • Coordinate with structural engineers, site engineers, and construction teams to ensure proper implementation of formwork systems.
  • Calculate load capacities, material quantities, and ensure safety and stability of formwork during concrete pouring.
  • Supervise installation, alignment, and dismantling of formwork on-site.
  • Ensure all formwork operations comply with safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress and provide technical guidance to site teams.
  • Evaluate and recommend suitable formwork materials (e.g., steel, timber, aluminum, or system formwork).
  • Troubleshoot on-site formwork issues and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain documentation and prepare reports related to formwork activities.
  • Collaborate with procurement for material estimation and scheduling.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Licensed Civil Engineer (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in formwork design and construction.
  • Strong knowledge of structural drawings, concrete technology, and formwork systems (PERI, Doka, etc.).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and other structural design software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
  • Willing to be assigned on-site or relocate when needed.
