Construction Project Engineer

We are seeking a Construction Project Engineer (Mechanical) who will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of residential, commercial, and vertical projects focusing on mechanical systems design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
Within your first 2–6 months, you will be considered successful if you can:
Project Familiarization & Technical Takeover
- Review and validate project drawings, mechanical layouts, design plans, and BOQs.
- Understand project scope, client specifications, and contract deliverables.
Planning & Design Coordination
- Develop detailed mechanical execution plans, resource schedules, and material take-offs.
- Coordinate with consultants and suppliers to finalize mechanical layouts, load calculations, and design revisions.
- Identify potential design conflicts early and propose solutions before mobilization.
Quality & Compliance Assurance
- Support project milestones completion within approved timelines and budgets.
- Ensure safety standards, QA/QC processes, and technical documentation are strictly followed.
The Construction Project Engineer (Mechanical) supports the full project lifecycle—from planning to turnover with focus on mechanical systems.
Initiating:
- Understand project scope, technical requirements, and client expectations for mechanical works.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to clarify mechanical deliverables and milestones.
Planning Stage:
- Prepare mechanical work plans, manpower loading, and resource schedules aligned with the project timeline.
- Develop design layouts, shop drawings, and coordinate with consultants for revisions and approvals.
- Estimate quantities and prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost proposals for mechanical systems.
- Identify risks, constraints, and dependencies, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with procurement for timely delivery of mechanical materials and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire safety, and mechanical design standards.
Executing:
- Supervise site activities related to mechanical installations, equipment setup, testing, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural teams to resolve interface issues.
- Monitor contractor performance and resource utilization.
Monitoring & Controlling:
- Track project progress, update schedules, and report mechanical work status.
- Ensure QA/QC compliance and site safety protocols.
- Review material submittals, work permits, and inspection reports.
Closing:
- Verify completion of mechanical works, testing, and final acceptance.
- Assist in turnover documentation and as-built drawings.
- Conduct post-project reviews and recommend process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate design layouts and shop drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Participate actively in the planning stage developing mechanical execution plans, design coordination, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project schedules and ensure alignment with mechanical works progress.
- Validate technical outputs from contractors, shared services, and maintenance teams.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure adherence to QA/QC and safety standards.
- Prepare mechanical material requests, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Support procurement and contract management for mechanical scope.
- Coordinate with consultants and vendors for testing, commissioning, and turnover.
- Assist in mechanical systems troubleshooting, maintenance, and post-project evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Training or certification in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or Fire Safety.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM 360, or any related design and coordination tools.
- With exposure to fit-out and property maintenance projects
- Possession of a valid Driver's License (DL Code B1/B2) is an advantage.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- PRC Licensed Mechanical Engineer.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in construction project engineering, preferably in building services (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
- Familiar with construction methods, project planning, and safety standards.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Ability to design, plot, read, and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics, and prepare basic BOQ.
- Physically fit to perform on-site inspections and technical work.
