HR - Payroll Officer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly).
  • Maintain employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.
  • Verify timekeeping records, attendance, and leave data for accuracy.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and other earnings or withholdings.
  • Prepare and issue payslips and related reports.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as income tax, social security, provident fund, and other contributions.
  • Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll journal entries for accounting.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company payroll information.
  • Assist with payroll audits and year-end tax reporting.
  • Stay up to date with changes in labor laws, taxation, and payroll legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of payroll processing experience.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, or similar).

  • Strong Excel and data management skills.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems is an advantage.

  • Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and labor laws.

  • Understanding of accounting and reconciliation principles.

  • Soft Skills:

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
