Playbook Sports builds AI-powered software solutions for the sports industry. As we expand our product capabilities, we are seeking a Recruiter with deep expertise in hiring talented software developers to join our team. This role is fundamental to our growth, and you will be the key partner in building our engineering organization.
Your Role
As our Recruiter, you will be the dedicated hiring expert for our technology teams. You will own the entire recruitment lifecycle, from understanding technical requirements to bringing exceptional software developers on board. Your primary mission is to build a predictable, high-quality pipeline of engineering talent that will drive our product forward.
What You'll Do
- Drive Engineering Hiring: You will manage the full hiring process for all software engineering roles, including front-end, back-end, full-stack, and QA/Automation.
- Build Talent Pipelines: Develop and execute strategies to find and attract skilled developers using professional networks, online developer communities, and targeted outreach.
- Partner with Technical Leaders: Work closely with our Engineering and Product leaders to understand technical requirements, define roles, and build effective, structured interview processes.
- Assess Technical Talent: Conduct initial screening calls to evaluate a candidate's technical background, core competencies, and career motivations.
- Ensure a Great Candidate Experience: Manage all communication to ensure candidates have a positive, transparent, and respectful experience with us, from the first contact to the final decision.
- Manage the Process: Use our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to maintain a clean and efficient hiring pipeline, track progress, and report on key metrics.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Experience: 3+ years of recruiting experience with a primary focus on hiring software developers. You have a proven track record of building engineering teams.
- Technical Acumen: A solid understanding of the software development landscape. You should be comfortable discussing various technologies, such as:
- Programming languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python)
- Web frameworks and libraries
- APIs and system integrations
- Cloud platforms and CI/CD concepts
- Sourcing Expertise: Strong ability to source passive technical candidates using advanced search methods (e.g., Boolean searches, GitHub/Stack Overflow sourcing).
- Process-Oriented: You are skilled in running a structured, fair, and consistent hiring process for multiple roles at once.
- Excellent Communication: You have clear, professional written and verbal communication skills and can effectively represent our company to technical candidates.
- Time Zone Alignment: You have the ability to work a schedule that aligns with U.S. Eastern Time (EST) for close collaboration with the hiring team.
Bonus Points For
- Experience hiring for AI/ML or low-code development roles.
- A recruiting background in the sports technology industry.
- Experience hiring for a variety of engineering specialties, including DevOps or Data Engineering.
