What You'll Be Doing

Be part of our client's team as a Property Accountant, where you'll handle financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance for a diverse commercial property portfolio. You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate records, analyzing performance, and supporting strategic decisions that keep real estate operations running smoothly and efficiently.

What You Need to Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA or equivalent certification (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of US experience in property accounting, specifically in commercial real estate
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles
  • Proficient in property management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Skilled in analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Solid background in commercial property accounting and financial operations

What You'll Handle

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements for assigned properties, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and manage annual property budgets and forecasts; monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes related to property management, including rent collection, tenant billing, and vendor payments
  • Lease Administration: Review and interpret commercial lease agreements to ensure accurate rent rolls, tenant billing, and lease compliance
  • CAM Reconciliation: Perform Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations and tenant chargebacks; ensure accuracy and compliance with lease terms
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decisions related to property acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic initiatives
