About the role

We are seeking a talented ITIL Monitoring Analyst to join our dynamic team at Indra Philippines, Inc.

Summary:

The ITIL Event Monitoring Analyst is responsible for proactively monitoring IT systems, infrastructure, and applications to identify and manage events that could impact service delivery. Using ITIL best practices, this role ensures events are detected, logged, categorized, and escalated appropriately to prevent or minimize service disruptions. The analyst plays a key role in maintaining system availability and supporting incident and problem management processes.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Event Monitoring and Detection

  • Monitor servers, networks, applications, and cloud environments using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Dynatrace, Nagios, Zabbix, or ServiceNow Event Management).
  • Identify normal vs. abnormal system behavior and generate alerts based on pre-defined thresholds.
  • Ensure monitoring coverage is complete and effective across all critical systems.

2. Event Correlation and Analysis

  • Analyze and correlate incoming events to determine business impact and potential root causes.
  • Distinguish between informational events, warnings, and exceptions that may lead to incidents.
  • Validate false positives and tune monitoring thresholds or configurations accordingly.

3. Incident Escalation and Communication

  • Escalate significant events or alerts to the appropriate support teams in line with escalation procedures.
  • Provide clear event context and logs for faster incident resolution.
  • Maintain communication with service desk and technical teams during major incidents.

4. Continuous Improvement and Reporting

  • Work with Problem Management to identify recurring issues and propose automation or process improvements.
  • Generate daily/weekly reports on event trends, system health, and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to configuration improvements for monitoring tools and dashboards.

5. ITIL Process Alignment

  • Adhere to ITIL Event, Incident, and Problem Management frameworks.
  • Support the integration of event monitoring with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
  • Participate in service reviews and improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 2 years' experience in IT operations, event monitoring, or NOC (Network Operations Center) environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 principles.

Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, SolarWinds, Zabbix, Nagios, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or ServiceNow Event Management).
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure components: servers, networks, databases, and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) is an advantage.
  • Understanding of log analysis and alert correlation tools.

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in 24x7 operations.
  • Team-oriented and proactive in identifying improvement areas.
