The Lunch Lady, a Michelin Bib Gourmand awardee, brings the bold flavors of Saigon street food to life. As we expand to the Philippines, we are looking for passionate talent to join our team and help deliver authentic flavors with exceptional hospitality.
The Sous Chef supports the Chef de Cuisine in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes. This role requires a skilled and dependable leader who can manage staff, maintain kitchen standards, and step into the lead role when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
- Support the Chef de Cuisine with inventory, ordering, vendor relations, and food cost controls.
- Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain performance standards.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency meet The Lunch Lady's standards.
- Uphold compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace regulations.
- Contribute ideas to menu development and operational improvements.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and efficient kitchen culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience, including 1+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Background in Southeast Asian cuisine; Vietnamese expertise preferred but not required.
- Experience in kitchen operations, cost management, and vendor coordination.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and motivate staff.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Commitment to culinary excellence and outstanding guest experiences.
- Physically able to lift up to 44 lbs and stand for extended periods.
