The Junior Accounting and Payroll Officer I is responsible for providing support in the accurate and timely preparation of payroll and accounting records. The role ensures compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements related to government remittances, while maintaining confidentiality and efficiency in all financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management
- Assist in processing the bi-monthly payroll of deployed and office-based employees.
- Verify attendance records, overtime, and other pay-related adjustments prior to payroll cut-off.
- Prepare and remit mandatory government contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, PagIBIG, and BIR).
- Update and maintain accurate payroll files and employee records.
- Respond promptly to payroll-related queries and discrepancies.
Accounting Functions
- Record daily financial transactions, including expenses, payments, and journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation of vouchers, billings, and collections.
- Support monthly account reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Assist in monitoring receivables, payables, and petty cash fund disbursements.
- Maintain organized accounting documents and ensure data integrity.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure adherence to government regulations and internal financial procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory reports, audit requirements, and year-end closing.
- Support the Finance Manager in generating periodic payroll and financial reports to the management and stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Accounting Technology, Finance, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting and/or payroll
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.
- Familiar with statutory benefits and government reporting requirements (SSS,
- PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR).
- Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
