  • Conflict resolution and investigations:

Address employee concerns, mediate disputes, and conduct confidential investigations into workplace issues like policy violations or interpersonal conflicts.
- Policy and compliance:

Develop, update, and enforce company policies in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Guidance and support:

Act as a resource for both employees and management, providing guidance on employee relations best practices, performance, and policy interpretation.
- Training and development:

Design and deliver training programs on topics such as harassment prevention, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures.
- Employee engagement:

Work to improve employee relations and engagement through feedback systems and strategic initiatives.
- Record keeping:

Maintain accurate and confidential records of all employee relations activities, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.

  • Education and experience: A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field is typically required, along with experience in employee relations or a related HR function.
  • Legal knowledge: A strong understanding of employment laws and regulations is essential.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong listening skills, and the ability to build rapport with individuals at all levels of the organization are crucial.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills: The ability to analyze situations, think critically, and find effective solutions to complex problems is a must.
  • Negotiation and mediation skills: Must be able to mediate effectively between parties to find resolutions.
  • Discretion and confidentiality: The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion is critical.
  • Technical proficiency: Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS (Human Resources Information System) applications is often required.
