AU- Accounts Payable Specialist

This role will support the Finance Manager in ensuring accurate and timely completion of month-end accounting tasks, managing other standard accounting responsibilities, and maintaining accurate records for asset acquisition and disposal. The role also provides back up support to the Accounts Payable officer when needed.

Responsibilities:
· Accrue annual leave entitlement
· Accrue RDO (Rostered Days Off) entitlement.
· Accrue Wages
· Journal expense pre-payments
· Process depreciation
· Process amortization journal.
· Maintain major overhaul and WIP Balance Sheet Worksheets journal.
· Journal fuel opening/closing balances.
· Journal mark-to-market foreign currency movements.
· Balance sheet reconciliations.
· Process asset acquisitions
· Process asset disposals
· Process asset finance (if applicable)
· Maintain lease/loan worksheet
· Create loan payment schedule journal
· Creation of asset/loan journal
· General ledger coding and data entry

Skills and Qualifications:
· Accounting Degree, CPA or equivalent.
· Must have experience with AUS Accounting.
· Relevant Accounting Experience:
o Management/ Finance Accounting
o Accounts Payable o Accounts Receivable
o General Ledger
o Assets/Depreciation Schedules
· Experience using multiple accounting tools and keeping them reconciled (Eg. making sure assets are in asset manager system and depreciation reconciles in the accounting system)
· Advanced excel skills
· Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Comfortable working on monthly and quarterly deadlines with the ability to prioritize tasks.
· Experience using MYOB
· Payroll
· File Maker or AMP Asset Manager Pro
