About the Role

We are looking for a Materials Engineer to support our construction projects in ensuring the quality, durability, and compliance of all construction materials. The role will involve conducting material testing, quality control, and documentation in line with DPWH and other regulatory standards. You will be working closely with the project management, procurement, and QA/QC teams to ensure that all materials used on site meet project specifications and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspection, sampling, and testing of construction materials (e.g., soil, aggregates, cement, concrete, asphalt, steel, etc.) in accordance with project specifications and DPWH standards.
  • Evaluate and approve materials prior to use in construction works.
  • Prepare and maintain Material Quality Control (MQC) reports, test results, and other technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure materials compliance and timely delivery.
  • Monitor on-site material storage, handling, and usage to ensure proper implementation.
  • Provide technical support on material-related issues, including non-conformance and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes, DPWH standards, and company quality management systems.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Civil Engineer or Materials Engineer (PRC).
  • Must be duly accredited by DPWH as a Materials Engineer (ME).
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in materials engineering, preferably in road, bridge, or vertical construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials testing, quality assurance, and standards (ASTM, AASHTO, DPWH).
  • Proficient in preparing technical reports and documentation.
  • Willing to be assigned on project sites nationwide.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment for material testing.
  • Experience with ISO quality management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
