Materials Engineer

Purpose of the Position:

  • Reporting to site Project Manager
  • Planning and implementation of Quality Management System, evaluation of materials used in construction and overseeing of inspections and testing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Knowledgeable on quality management procedures and project standards and specifications

  2. Knowledgeable on inspection criteria and testing processes for all construction materials

  3. Establish quality assurance and control system to ensure compliance of construction materials to project standard and specifications

  4. Evaluates inspection and testing proc sees of materials onsite and coordinate's with appropriate departments for all materials procurement to ensure compliance with project specifications

  5. Monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with quality procedures and project specifications

  6. Prepares quality control and assurance report, materials inspection report and analyzes material testing data

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Qualification Licensed and Registered Civil Engineer, Accredited Materials Engineer
  • Skills Hardworking and resourceful with strong drive and high level of initiative; Team player and can work under pressure; Very knowledgeable in Quality Management System, Materials standards and specifications, Materials testing, and Construction Methodology
  • Experience At least 3-5 years related world experience preferably in construction industry Deliverables:
  • External Quality control and assurance report, Monthly material report Internal Material inspection and testing report

High Depree of personal motivation

  • Commercial acumen
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit management team and manage numerous activities / projects simultaneously - both short and long term.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with the minimum of supervision

Outgoing personality essential for dealing directly with clients

  • Good negotiator

Flexibility with regard the working across all areas of the business, and flours to meet the requirements of this challenging position.
