Job Objective:

The Business Development Supervisor supports the creation and execution of new product initiatives across beauty and personal care categories. This role assists in identifying category opportunities, coordinating product development requirements, and ensuring timely progress of assigned NPD projects. The Supervisor works cross-functionally to support the BDM/BDM Head in delivering trend-relevant, market-fit, and profitable product launches.

Key Responsibilities

1. Market & Consumer Insights Support

  • Assist in gathering market research, competitor scans, pricing studies, and category trends.
  • Consolidate retailer feedback, trade requirements, and shopper insights from Sales & Trade Marketing.
  • Provide initial recommendations on whitespace and product opportunities for review by the Manager.

2. Innovation Pipeline & Project Coordination

  • Support the preparation of annual NPD pipeline documents and concept lists.
  • Draft initial product concept briefs, feature/benefit summaries, and competitive value analyses.
  • Track project timelines and update the internal NPD masterfile.

3. Supplier Coordination & Product Development Assistance

  • Coordinate sample requests with suppliers, labs, and manufacturers.
  • Facilitate evaluation sessions: organize feedback, comparisons, and alignment notes.
  • Assist in packaging development coordination—including functionality checks, artwork updates, and basic cost comparisons.
  • Prepare documents needed for BOM creation and secure approvals from relevant departments.

4. Cross-Functional Project Support

  • Act as the main coordinator for assigned NPD tasks with Regulatory, Supply Chain, QC, Finance, and Sales.
  • Monitor deadlines, escalate delays, and ensure alignment with the overall project calendar.
  • Assist in risk flagging and help implement actions for faster speed-to-market.

5. Launch Preparation & Channel Coordination

  • Prepare product information sheets, claim summaries, and brief decks for Marketing, BA training, and PR.
  • Assist Sales with listing documents, item specs, and required retailer forms.
  • Coordinate with Demand Planning regarding forecast inputs and production lead times.

6. Post-Launch Monitoring

  • Consolidate sell-in/sell-out data from Sales, Trade, and Ecommerce.
  • Monitor consumer feedback from social channels and customer service.
  • Support the Manager in preparing recommendations for improvements, reformulations, or SKU cleanup.
