The Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and procuring raw materials, packaging materials, supplies, and services required for manufacturing and export operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and procure raw materials, packaging components, indirect supplies, and services based on production and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals, conduct cost analyses, and recommend the best-value suppliers.
  • Maintain qualified supplier lists and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory/quality requirements (GMP, HACCP, FSSC).
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs), monitor order status, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Resolve supplier issues related to delays, non-conformance, price discrepancies, and documentation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, alternative suppliers, and long-term sourcing strategies.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, price lists, supplier contracts, and documentation for audits.
  • Support monthly closing activities by preparing purchasing reports, cost tracking, and material forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other related fields.
  • Minimum of 1–3 years purchasing or procurement experience.
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of raw/packaging materials used in food manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.
