Site Engineer

Qualifications

• Education – Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Engineering and Management or a related area of study
• Experience – years of experience working on construction projects as either a field engineer for 2+ years or office engineer for 3+ years or 3+ years of relevant experience
• Possession of a Professional License in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent is not required
• Ability to process technical information and be skilled in independently managing multiple projects and organizing maintenance priorities
• Extremely proficient reviewing and understanding all construction documents, including specifications and drawings
• Extensive knowledge of contract selection, construction contract organization and principles, contract language, building code standards, and construction cost estimates
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with various parties, including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients
• Possession of a valid driver's license in good standing is required

Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect construction of projects and provide quality assurance that completed work is in compliance with the plans and specifications
• Routinely inspect job site for general project and safety compliance, and appropriately communicate issues to Project Manager / Safety Officer / etc.
• Ensure projects proceed safely, accurately, and smoothly
• Act as point of contact and coordinate directly with various parties (the client, the construction project manager, and the many subcontractors) for adherence to the drawings, specifications, etc.
• Attend site meetings and/or perform walkthroughs with owners / subcontractors / suppliers and prepare minutes
• Lead with project control activities, including project document management, RFI tracking, contract document review
• Assist in changes to scope, prepare estimates, and negotiate new project scope
• Monitor contract implementation, quality of work, and materials
• Track invoices and receipts for field purchase orders and maintain field purchase order files and documentation
• Create and file documentation (e.g., correspondence, reports) on a daily basis to follow-up on and/or summarize project issues, agreements, communications with owners and subcontractors, etc.
• Develop, execute, and maintain weekly and monthly project work plans for scope, budget, schedule, and safety objectives
• Monitor progress against accepted construction schedule and review the various parties' progress reports
• Occasional travel within and outside the region may be required

• Cost Estimates: Sample construction cost estimates or budget tracking sheets.
• Project Correspondence: Emails, letters, or memos documenting communication with project stakeholders (with sensitive information redacted).
• Field Purchase Order Documentation: Invoices, receipts, and tracking logs for field purchases.
• Progress Reports: Daily, weekly, or monthly reports on project status, challenges, and accomplishments.
• AutoCAD Drawings: Sample plans, sections, or details prepared or modified by the applicant.
• Compliance Documentation: Evidence of adherence to building codes, standards, or safety regulations.
