Position Summary

The Engineering Supervisor oversees daily engineering operations, ensuring all technical activities, projects, and maintenance tasks are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with organizational goals. This role provides leadership to engineering teams, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to drive operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Team Management
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate engineering technicians, engineers, and support staff.
  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor work tasks to ensure timely and high-quality completion.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development through coaching and training.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
2. Engineering Operations
  • Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment, systems, or infrastructure.
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance logs, inspections, and technical reports.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with production/operations to minimize downtime and ensure smooth workflow.
3. Project Management
  • Plan, implement, and manage engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Prepare scope, schedules, resource allocations, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects comply with engineering standards, safety regulations, and budget constraints.
4. Compliance & Safety
  • Enforce compliance with industry standards, company policies, and government regulations.
  • Lead safety audits, risk assessments, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure proper application of engineering best practices and quality control measures.
5. Technical Support & Problem-Solving
  • Provide subject-matter expertise for complex technical issues.
  • Analyze recurring problems and implement root cause solutions.
  • Support the integration of new systems, technologies, and equipment.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.).
  • 3–5+ years of engineering experience; supervisory/lead experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering principles, maintenance systems, and safety standards.
Skills
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent project management abilities.
  • Proficient in engineering software (CAD, CMMS, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
