Job Summary

The Key Accounts Manager is responsible for managing, growing, and retaining the company's strategic and high-value client accounts within the logistics and supply chain sector. This role serves as the primary point of contact for key customers, ensuring service excellence, contract compliance, revenue growth, and long-term partnership development across freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution, and end-to-end logistics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Key Account Management & Client Relations

  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with assigned key accounts, acting as the main liaison between clients and internal operations teams.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by proactively addressing concerns, service gaps, and operational issues.
  • Conduct regular business reviews, performance evaluations, and service alignment meetings with clients.

Revenue Growth & Business Development

  • Drive revenue growth through account expansion, upselling, cross-selling, and contract renewals.
  • Identify new logistics opportunities within existing accounts, including freight, warehousing, last-mile, and value-added services.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans aligned with company growth objectives.

Contract & Commercial Management

  • Negotiate pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), and commercial terms in coordination with management.
  • Monitor contract compliance, KPIs, and profitability of each key account.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, billing coordination, and timely collection in partnership with Finance and Credit teams.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with Operations, Customer Service, Finance, and Solutions teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Coordinate onboarding of new key accounts and implementation of customized logistics solutions.
  • Escalate operational risks and client concerns appropriately and drive resolution.

Reporting & Market Intelligence

  • Prepare regular account performance reports, revenue forecasts, and pipeline updates.
  • Provide market insights, competitor intelligence, and client feedback to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5–8 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain sales/account management.
  • Proven experience handling key or strategic accounts with measurable revenue responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of logistics services such as sea freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, trucking, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and commercial acumen.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM systems.
Preferred Competencies
  • Existing client network within logistics, manufacturing, FMCG, retail, or e-commerce sectors.
  • Experience working with SLAs, KPIs, and contract management.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
