Accounts Receivable Representative Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for securing revenue generated by sales organizations, building strong customer relationships and fostering positive interactions to drive ongoing relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contact B2B customers via phone, email or fax to discuss outstanding invoices and billing issues.
  • Manage a collections portfolio of 300-600 accounts, with approximately 40 customer contacts per day.
  • Negotiate customer payment terms based on account status to ensure maximum payment recovery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customer accounts and champion our receivable policy.
  • Work with internal sales reps to troubleshoot payment issues.
  • Document and track collections activity and work from a monthly aging report.
  • Manage individual and department monthly receivable targets.
  • Reconcile accounts regularly.

Requirements:

  • Completed college diploma in Accounting or Finance, or related experience.
  • Two to three years of experience in corporate collections, focusing on medium to enterprise-level customers.
  • Experience with Accounts Receivable escalation process and resolving account issues.
  • Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
