Remote Virtual Medical Assistant Job Description

The role of a Virtual Medical Assistant is to provide administrative support to our healthcare operations remotely. As a Virtual Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as scheduling, email management, document handling, and data entry.

This role involves a combination of administrative duties, HIPAA-compliant tasks, and light marketing responsibilities such as content creation and social media support. You will assist with HIPAA compliance processes, audits, documentation, and internal controls. Additionally, you will support compliance training initiatives and policy updates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily administrative tasks (scheduling, email management, document handling, data entry).

  • Create and manage content for the company's WordPress website and social media platforms.
  • Coordinate and support basic digital marketing efforts (e.g., newsletters, posts, simple campaigns).

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Hold a valid HIPAA Certification with a strong understanding of healthcare privacy and security regulations.
  • Have proven experience in administrative roles, ideally within healthcare or a regulated industry.
  • Be familiar with compliance-related documentation and practices.
  • Have experience with content creation and basic design tools.
  • Be proficient in WordPress and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
  • Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
