Job Description

The role involves supporting the accounting operations of U.S.-based startup clients in a remote setting.

Duties include preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate general ledgers, managing daily accounting tasks, and assisting in month-end closings.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. accounting standards (GAAP).

A work schedule is established from Monday to Friday, with at least 8 working hours between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM US Central Time (8:00 PM to 7:00 AM PHT).

The work setup is fully remote, allowing the candidate to work from their own home.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in preparing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow)
  • Performing journal entries, reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy in general ledger accounts
  • Processing and reviewing accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Generating accurate financial reports and analyses for review by clients and senior staff
  • Assisting in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
  • Maintaining up-to-date records and ensuring documentation supports reported balances
Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and have at least 3 years of corporate accounting experience.

They should also have experience working remotely for a U.S.-based accounting firm and possess strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.

Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software (MS Excel and Google Sheets) is required, as well as excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on nuanced tasks.

Preferred qualifications include being certified as a Public Accountant, having experience in startups or SaaS environments, and familiarity with tools such as Expensify, Bill.com, Gusto, Stripe, etc.
