Job Description

The Executive Pastry Chef plays a crucial role in the culinary team, overseeing the preparation of all baked goods such as pastries and desserts.

  • Supervise and Participate in Food Preparation: Ensure that all baked food items are prepared according to established recipe cards and methods.
  • Supply Kitchen Operations: Guarantee that all kitchen areas receive the necessary baked items, pastries, and desserts in a timely manner.
  • Aesthetic Quality Control: Regularly inspect and taste baked items to ensure they meet visual appeal standards.
  • Decorative Centerpieces: Prepare eye-catching centerpieces for outlets and banquets.
  • Portion Control and Standard Plating: Adhere to portion control policies and standard plating instructions.
  • Market Analysis and Service Improvement: Conduct market analysis and customer satisfaction surveys to continuously develop and enhance department service delivery.
  • Recipe Management: Maintain an up-to-date standard recipe file for all baked, pastry, and sweet items, including recipe lists, item costs, importation items lists, and preparation times.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Culinary Expertise: Possess a strong background in pastry cooking, preferably with experience in a 5-star environment.
  • Leadership and Management: Demonstrate solid managerial experience, including knowledge of people management, problem-solving, and food sanitation.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Exemplify professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Language Proficiency: Possess excellent English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • HACCP Awareness: Be fully aware of HACCP procedures.
