Job Overview

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of our incubation strategy, capacitating and supporting technology business incubators to ensure the development of competitive and sustainable enterprises.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support in the establishment of technology business incubation and accelerators in accordance with our Incubation Strategy.
  • Provide operational support to existing and new technology business incubators (TBIs) and accelerators.
  • Monitor and evaluate TBIs' and accelerators' performance and recommend appropriate interventions.
  • Network and build effective linkages with relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage the effective performance and efficiency levels of a portfolio of incubators/accelerators.
Requirements

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in operations management or business management, who has experience in enterprise development/technology business incubation and business advising. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in assessing the viability and sustainability of small enterprises and have a deep understanding of the enterprise development and incubation/accelerators ecosystem.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Operational Support: Provide operational support in the establishment of technology business incubation and accelerators in accordance with our Incubation Strategy.
  2. Incubator Support: Provide operational support to existing and new technology business incubators (TBIs) and accelerators.
  3. Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate TBIs' and accelerators' performance and recommend appropriate interventions.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Network and build effective linkages with relevant stakeholders.
  5. Portfolio Management: Manage the effective performance and efficiency levels of a portfolio of incubators/accelerators.
Education and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Matric (NQF Level 4) plus a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Operations Management or Business Management or Incubation Management or Entrepreneurship Management or Project Management or Computer Science.
  • A Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in Operations Management or Business Management or Incubation Management or Entrepreneurship Management or Computer Science or Project Management as added advantage.
  • 4-6 years' experience in Enterprise Development/Technology Business Incubation and Business Advising.
  • Proven experience in an innovation and technology-driven industry or organization.
  • Experience in assessing the viability and sustainability of small enterprises.
  • In-depth understanding of the enterprise development and incubation/accelerators ecosystem.
