Job Description

The Assistant Store Manager plays a pivotal role in the success of our retail farm and ranch store. As the second-in-command, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless operations, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and fostering a positive work environment.

  • Maintain regular attendance and adaptability to meet business needs.
  • Work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Uphold safety protocols and promote a productive work environment by enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Excel at customer service through GURA: greet customers, uncover their needs, recommend solutions, add value, and appreciate them.

Proficient in all Team Leader and Receiver functions, including managing inventory, operating equipment, and maintaining accurate records.

Collaborate with the Store Manager to drive sales, profit, and customer loyalty initiatives, while prioritizing daily tasks and delegating responsibilities to team members.

Perform opening and closing procedures, transport deposits to the bank, and resolve customer complaints efficiently.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: Previous retail leadership experience is essential. Familiarity with farming, ranching, pet/equine, or welding knowledge is strongly preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the store.
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, balers, computers, and cash registers.
  • Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders for extended periods.

Ability to read, write, count accurately, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict.
Benefits

Working environment: Favorable conditions inside with moderate noise. Indoor floors and outdoor lots are hard surfaces, with adequate lighting and temperature.

Adverse weather conditions may require working outdoors. Work shifts vary from 4 to over 8 hours.

Ability to travel as required in support of district needs and drive or operate a vehicle for business purposes.
