Job Opportunity: Accounting Expert
We are seeking a highly skilled accounting professional to serve as the right-hand to our Controller, operating at both strategic and tactical levels.
This role requires strong accounting expertise and business acumen, with a mindset of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be able to operate comfortably in a fast-paced environment, analyzing general ledger accounts and providing insights on significant variances.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate posting.
- Analyze general ledger accounts and provide actionable insights on significant variances.
- Assist in preparing internal financial reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and support management with variance analysis and commentary on financial trends and results.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal financial reporting packages.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts in FloQast; ensure resolution of discrepancies and maintain data integrity.
- Prepare and file required tax forms, including sales and use tax, business licenses, and annual reports.
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audits; ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and other relevant regulations.
- Identify and lead initiatives to streamline and automate accounting processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification or active progress toward CPA is a plus.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-client environment.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial controls.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly [insert specific system name].
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments.
