Job Title: Senior General Ledger Accountant

The role of a Senior General Ledger Accountant is to oversee and perform various general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal financial controls and accounting principles.

This position is responsible for leading month-end and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and conducting variance analysis. The successful candidate will also analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

A strong understanding of IFRS or GAAP, accounting principles, and internal financial controls is required. Proficiency in SAP S4 HANA is a must, as well as skilled use of Concur, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and banking platforms such as JPMorgan Access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform general ledger activities including Fixed Assets, Intangibles, Leases, Intercompany Transactions, Transfer Pricing, Prepaids, GRIR, Stock Rotation, Accruals, and Tax-related entries.
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and conduct variance analysis.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with IFRS and company policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with AP, AR, Payroll, FP&A, and other teams to ensure data integrity.
  • Support process improvements, system upgrades, policy development, and mentor junior staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • CPA certification is required.
  • Proficiency in SAP S4 HANA is a must.
  • Strong understanding of IFRS or GAAP, accounting principles, and internal financial controls.
  • Skilled in using Concur, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and banking platforms such as JPMorgan Access.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and clear communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and driven to ask the right questions and contribute proactively.
