Medical File Reviewer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Medical File Reviewer to join our team. As a Medical File Reviewer, you will be responsible for preparing case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQ) assigned in the client portal.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare case files and DBQs assigned in the client portal.
  2. Review and bookmark medical records and create a synopsis to answer medical opinion questions based on the veteran's medical history.
  3. Remotely assist the medical provider during scheduled appointments by accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps in the medical provider's computer prior to the appointment.
  4. Remotely interview the veteran via the approved video or telephone conference platform.
  5. Transcribe the medical history based on the veteran's answers to the questions in the DBQ.
  6. Remotely assist the medical provider by documenting physical examination findings in the appropriate section of the DBQs.
  7. Complete all sections of the DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
  8. Meet with medical providers to discuss each assigned case to determine the final diagnosis per DBQ and approve medical opinions.
  9. Transfer data from the DBQ spreadsheet to the client portal.
  10. Submit DBQs in the client portal.
  11. Answer queries/addendum reports from the client's QAs.
Requirements:
  • BSN and active PHRN license.
  • Good communication skills to assist veterans, medical providers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in work schedule changes as needed.
  • Accountability for all assigned cases.
  • Proficiency with MS applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Assist Lead and/or Trainer in process improvement.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
Computer Specs Requirements:
  1. Fiber connection with at least 20mbps download and upload speed.
  2. Available backup internet with minimum 15mbps download and upload speed.
  3. Main desktop/laptop i5 to i7 with 8GB RAM, 4th generation and above.
  4. Backup desktop/laptop i3 to i5 with 8GB RAM, 4th generation and above.
