Senior Tax Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for completing working papers and assisting the onshore team with client tax compliance reports.

The role involves handling fundamental and core aspects of clients' tax compliance and may assist with advanced tasks provided by the Accounting Manager or Service Delivery Manager.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Tax Compliance: Preparation and lodgement of individual income tax returns, business activity statements, installment activity statements, and fringe benefits tax returns.
  • Bookkeeping: Maintenance of client accounting files in Xero, MYOB, and occasionally Quickbooks.
  • Payroll Processing: Management of payroll processing in client accounting files in Xero and MYOB.
  • Financial Reporting: Preparation of monthly management reports, including P&L and balance sheet, for clients from their accounting platforms.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Performing various tasks as deemed necessary by the Account Manager involving client management.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in taxation, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to perform training in downtime to improve their skills and share knowledge with the team.
