Job Title: Senior Program Design Specialist

Informing and Implementing Global WASH Programs

Come join our team as a Senior Program Design Specialist for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) projects. As part of the Compassion International organization, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of WASH projects and activities across the organization.

You will work closely with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) team to support the design, monitoring, and evaluation of WASH projects. Additionally, you will collaborate with National office specialists in emerging areas of interest in WASH programming, facilitating opportunities for learning exchange and highlighting best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be a consistent witness for Him.
  • Advocate for the awareness of children's needs, upholding child protection considerations in all decision-making and tasks.
  • Provide technical guidance for the effective implementation and quality of WASH projects globally, including defining technical specifications and supervision of WASH infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Represent the organization and present WASH technical programs at relevant forums to enhance the organization's technical knowledge and reputation.
  • Write technical components related to WASH for proposal development and offer subject matter expertise in WASH strategy development.
  • Support disaster response operations by providing WASH technical support and collaborating with other Global Design Specialists in the design of WASH solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a similar WASH-related field.
  • Master's degree preferred in a WASH-related or International Development field.
  • 10+ years of experience working in this or a similar position or field.
  • Advisor-level experience with a WASH program in a developing country is desirable.
  • Experience in project planning and management, budget preparation, and report writing is a plus.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
