
Healthcare Support Specialist

A Patient Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring patients receive the support they need. Their primary responsibility is to understand patient queries and concerns, which they address by gathering information from various sources, including consumers, family members, medical personnel, and administrative staff. To effectively perform this task, Patient Services Representatives must be familiar with facility policies, available medical and community resources, and relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Answer incoming calls in accordance with established procedures and departmental standards.
- Assist patients in addressing their queries and concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collect outstanding patient balances.
- Coordinate with third-party entities, such as insurance providers, to resolve patient account-related inquiries.
- Make outbound collection calls in compliance with set procedures and departmental guidelines.
- Provide assistance to patients regarding billing-related queries and concerns.
- Ensure the protection of sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental and company objectives.
- Maintain a high level of attendance and punctuality, adhering to scheduled work hours and breaks.
- Preferably a college graduate or at least two years of college-level education.
- Relevant degrees or courses in the medical field are highly valued.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Familiarity with basic mathematical calculations.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in email management and usage.
- Highly motivated and self-driven individual who can adapt to changing circumstances.
- Organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
- Dependable and team-oriented individual who supports departmental and company goals.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate varying demands.
- Previous experience in a call center setting, particularly in medical accounts and programs, is desirable but not mandatory.
