Job Opportunity

We are seeking a resourceful and tech-savvy bookkeeper to support fast-growing businesses in the jewelry retail industry.

The ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records, streamline transaction processing, and support key automation initiatives using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other financial tools like Bill.com.

The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced environment. Experience in retail bookkeeping is highly preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Record and categorize daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) accurately.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice entry, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date general ledger.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Provide accounting support, including:
    • Inventory tracking, cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) allocations, and POS system integration.
    • Assist with the financial nuances of jewelry sales, returns, and vendor purchasing.
  • Utilize Bill.com to process and manage vendor payments efficiently and support payroll administration in coordination with internal systems and external providers.
  • Support reporting and financial analysis tasks, including generating financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) and identifying trends for cost optimization or revenue improvement.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to support forecasting and budgeting efforts.
  • Contribute to technology and automation initiatives, including automating workflows using QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, or other integrated tools; recommend and implement improvements to streamline bookkeeping operations; stay up to date on financial technology to support a lean and efficient team.
  • Provide general administrative and cross-functional support as a finance team member, take on special projects as assigned, and maintain a high level of responsiveness and reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in a retail or e-commerce setting.
  • Experience in or with the jewelry industry is a strong plus.
  • Payroll experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and experience using Bill.com is required.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools; able to learn new technology quickly.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-starter with an ownership mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and remote work environment.
