Workday Certified Time and Absence Consultant Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Workday Certified Time and Absence Consultant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring successful deployments by architecting, configuring, and testing Workday solutions to meet the specific needs of our clients.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise and experience with Absence & Time Tracking in the Workday Payroll product suite. You will lead the following tasks:

  • Gather and document client business requirements
  • Design and configure the Workday solution
  • Demonstrate configurations through the development of prototype systems
  • Assist in testing the Workday solution
  • Complete knowledge transfer to clients

In addition to technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role. You will work closely with our team members to address complex tasks/requirements when other team members need support. You will also facilitate clients' intellectual and practical adoption of Workday best practices and maintain their ongoing satisfaction.

Key Expectations
  • Provide expertise in the Workday Payroll product suite, with deep expertise and experience with Absence & Time Tracking
  • Lead the following as a member of a deployment team, or coach others to successfully: gather and document client business requirements, design and configure the Workday solution, demonstrate configurations through the development of prototype systems, assist in testing the Workday solution, and complete knowledge transfer to clients
  • Work with confidential client/data conversion team to help convert legacy data into Workday
  • Assist the integration consulting team in configuring and testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions
  • Mentor new consultants and serve as a professional role model as well as coach others on product knowledge
  • Communicate clearly and concisely. Collaborate effectively and synergistically to team-based projects
  • Work with team members to address complex tasks/requirements when other team members need support
  • Facilitate clients' intellectual and practical adoption of Workday best practices
  • Maintain clients' ongoing satisfaction, ensuring we are referenceable and referable once in production
  • Provide regular status reports to the project managers keeping them apprised of overall project status
  • Innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain Workday certifications and qualifications
  • Ensure functional solutions are compatible with downstream data translation (assist integrators in configuring/testing integrations between Workday and external systems)
  • Demonstrate computational thinking. Identify problem components, analyze patterns, remove inefficient configurations or processes, and construct algorithmic solutions scalable to ongoing client needs
  • Contribute to and mold a culture of continuous education amongst your colleagues, mentees, and managers - serve as a professional role model
  • Provide insightful status reports to project managers that highlight risks to project health and improvements in client adoption
