Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Specialist to provide top-notch technical assistance to our customers and team members.

This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Offer telephone and face-to-face technical support to users regarding desktop issues.
  • Respond to requests for assistance by providing information to enable users to resolve their problems.
  • Maintain accurate log entries of faults with resolution and contact details.
  • Maintain accurate log entries of all times whilst on shift.
  • Ensure all hardware/software installations and routine upgrades are implemented according to Service Level Agreements.
  • Provide the business with a professional service by ensuring requests are regularly updated and realistic resolution times are provided.
  • Act as an effective interface between users and service providers, supplying all necessary diagnostic information according to procedures.
  • Elevate technical queries not progressing to Network Engineers according to established procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing team training and development.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant IT support experience coupled with relevant tertiary qualifications.
  • Solid technical knowledge of desktop hardware and both standard and customized software.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple problems at once and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Prominent customer service focus.
  • Familiarity with the organization's Standard Operating Environment (SOE).
  • Outstanding English communication skills, written and verbal.
