Cash Transaction Manager Job Description

At Filinvest Hotel, we are seeking a skilled Cash Transaction Manager to join our finance team.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately PHP 270,000 - PHP 450,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Overview: As a Cash Transaction Manager, you will be responsible for managing the hotel's cash transactions with accuracy and integrity. This includes handling daily cash reconciliations, preparing bank deposits, maintaining a petty cash fund, and assisting with various finance-related tasks to support smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cash Handling & Reconciliation
    • Audit-Compliant Cash Counting: Accurately count and record daily cash, credit card, and other transactions from all hotel departments.
    • Daily Drop Preparation: Prepare and reconcile the daily cash drop, ensuring all funds are accounted for and recorded properly.
    • Banking Coordination: Prepare daily banking deposits and coordinate with the bank for cash deposits and withdrawals.
  2. Petty Cash Management
    • Fund Issuance: Manage the hotel's petty cash fund, issuing cash in line with approved requests and ensuring appropriate documentation.
    • Reconciliation and Balancing: Perform regular petty cash reconciliations, ensuring that receipts and expenditures are correctly accounted for.
  3. Banking & Financial Reporting
    • Cash Report Submission: Prepare daily cash reports and submit to the Finance Manager for review.
    • Financial Data Integrity: Assist in maintaining accurate records of all cash transactions in the hotel's accounting system.
    • Currency Exchange Compliance: Handle all aspects of currency exchange and ensure compliance with hotel policies and regulations.
  4. Compliance & Internal Controls
    • Policy Adherence: Follow all hotel and company policies related to cash handling, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
    • Partnership with Accounting: Participate in audits and collaborate with the accounting team to ensure financial data accuracy.
    • Internal Control Implementation: Implement and uphold internal controls to protect the hotel's cash assets and prevent loss.
  5. Other Financial Support
    • Closing Activities: Assist with month-end closing activities, ensuring timely reconciliation of cash and petty cash.
    • Additional Duties: Support the accounting team with additional duties as needed, including invoice preparation, processing payments, and ledger entries.
    • Discrepancy Resolution: Address discrepancies in cash handling, and work with relevant departments to resolve any issues promptly.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a cashier or cash-handling role, ideally in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Skills: Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office, especially Excel. Strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with high accuracy. Knowledge of accounting principles and cash-handling procedures.
  • Ethical Standards: Strong ethical standards and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Location: Willingness to work in Muntinlupa City.
