The role of a Proposal Specialist involves applying fundamental principles and best practices in proposal management to develop winning proposals that meet client objectives. This position requires reviewing RFx requests, identifying win themes, creating proposal plans and templates, and collaborating with technology partners on content development.

To be successful, candidates must ensure proposals are grammatically correct, consistent in style and formatting, and adhere to client requirements. They will also work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to guarantee content aligns with brand standards and client-centric values.

This position demands the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously, ensuring each submission is clear, accurate, and strategically positioned to win. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and editing proposal responses, executive summaries, and supporting materials; conducting thorough reviews for accuracy, compliance, and clarity; managing existing and new content in Responsive; and overseeing proposal timelines, tasks, and deliverables.

  • Support the Proposal Manager in coordinating the pursuit team to meet all schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintain close working relationships with all members of the RFx team and key internal stakeholders.
  • Develop effective win strategies, themes, discriminators, key messages, and other pertinent proposal content.
  • Communicate proposal development and production schedules.
  • Monitor and triage public sector subscription services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Proposal Manager to oversee the pursuit team's performance in meeting all schedules and deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with the RFx team and key internal stakeholders.
  • Define and execute win strategies, themes, discriminators, key messages, and other crucial proposal content elements.
  • Effectively communicate proposal development and production schedules.
  • Ensure seamless operation of public sector subscription services.
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience in proposal development.
  • Strong background in developing win strategies and proposal plans.
  • APMP certification or experience with APMP methodologies.
  • Proficiency in proposal software (e.g. Responsive) for content management and workflow automation.
  • Expertise in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience working in remote teams.
  • Proven writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
