Accounting Professional Role Overview

Maintaining key financial records is a crucial aspect of this role. Daily tasks include transaction recording, time management, and organisational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coding and reconciliation of accounts for weekly and monthly bookkeeping clients.
  • Prepayments/Accruals/Fixed asset coding & reconciliations.
  • Processing payroll through Xero accounting software.
  • Processing supplier invoices in Hubdoc accounting tool.
  • BAS / IAS preparation.
  • End-of-year payroll reporting.
  • Reconciliations and returns for BAS at the end of the tax year.
  • Worker Compensation estimates and actuals declarations.
  • Review and preparation of management accounts pack from Xero each month.
  • Potential growth into processing individual Australian tax returns.
  • Raise potential risks for clients and the business based on data and observations, providing recommendations to mitigate impacts.
  • Perform any task deemed necessary by the Team Manager or Service Delivery Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
Key Competencies
  • Complete knowledge of client accounts and businesses.
  • General AU Accounting/Bookkeeping experience with a solid background.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Australian accounts.
  • Australian Taxation and Compliance knowledge is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as Xero and Hubdoc.
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools as needed.
  • Ensure quality of work without supervision.
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Communication Skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
