Port Coordinator Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Port Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of scheduled routes and addressing any issues or delays that arise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Maintain Schedules: Create and manage schedules for linehaul operations, including assigning routes and vehicles based on factors such as delivery lead time, vehicle capacity/ truck productivity, and driver availability.
  • Coordinate with Dispatchers and Drivers: Collaborate with dispatchers, drivers, and other personnel to ensure seamless execution of scheduled routes and address any challenges that may arise.
  • Analyze Route Performance Data: Monitor and analyze route performance data to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service quality.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Work closely with other departments, such as regional center, last mile, and mid-mile to provide updates on schedule changes, delays, or other relevant information.
  • Develop and Implement Policies: Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to enhance the effectiveness of linehaul scheduling processes.
  • Monitor Pre-Booking Requirements: Ensure updates on the status of shipments upon transporting until they reach every hub.
  • Conduct Regular Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews per trucker to ensure adherence to company standards and efficiency in operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Possess a bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in Transportation Logistics: Have proven experience in transportation logistics, with a focus on linehaul operations in ports.
  • Transportation Management Systems: Have a strong understanding of transportation management systems or any data dashboards.
  • Organizational and Multitasking Abilities: Possess excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Have effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with internal teams, truckers, and drivers.
  • Analytical Mindset: Possess an analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment: Be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Transportation Regulations: Have knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
