Job Overview

This role is responsible for coordinating linehaul operations, ensuring smooth execution of scheduled routes and addressing any issues or delays that arise.

The Port Coordinator will be the primary point of contact for dispatchers, drivers, and other personnel to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of transportation management systems and data dashboards, as well as excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain schedules for linehaul operations, including assigning routes and vehicles based on factors such as delivery lead time, vehicle capacity/truck productivity, and driver availability.

  • Coordinate with dispatchers, drivers, and other personnel to ensure smooth execution of scheduled routes and address any issues or delays that arise.

  • Monitor and analyze route performance data to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service quality.

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with other departments to provide updates on schedule changes, delays, or other relevant information.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines to improve the effectiveness of linehaul scheduling processes.

  • Ensure updates on the status of shipments upon transporting until they reach every Hub.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in transportation logistics, with a focus on linehaul operations in ports.

  • Strong understanding of transportation management systems or any data dashboards.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with internal teams, truckers, and drivers.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
