
Patient Service Representative Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented representative to join our remote team, specializing in family medicine and internal medicine support. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients over the phone, schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and maintain accurate patient records within a medical electronic health record (EHR).
Responsibilities:
- Greet callers in a professional, courteous manner and address patient needs promptly.
- Schedule primary care appointments including annual exams, chronic care follow-ups, acute visits, and preventive screenings.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status.
- Maintain and update patient records accurately in the EHR system.
- Assist with patient portal setup and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions in alignment with practice policies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine.
- Proficiency in EHR systems, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features.
- Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
