Senior Network Engineer Role

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for providing operational support to the global network environment. This involves proactive and reactive support for all network hardware, software, and communication links.

The Senior Network Engineer will report to the Senior Manager of Engineering and Implementations.

This role may involve on-boarding new clients, designing and implementing new offices, or integrating network technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project managers with network setup integration.
  • Solve complex problems with well-planned documentation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities such as code updates & equipment upgrades.
  • Manage incident, problem, change, and capacity management.
  • Deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors.
  • Maintain security and audit compliance.
  • Execute operational-related moves, adds, changes, and deletes (MACD).
  • Adhere to operational standards.
  • Comply with engineering design standards and established operational processes.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining operational documentation.
  • Analyze root cause of network events.
  • Other duties assigned by management.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Cisco networking technologies: DNS, DHCP, VPN, network security, IP routing protocols.
  • Routing and switching, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Cisco wireless.
  • Meraki wireless.
  • Palo Alto firewalls.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience supporting Cisco networking technologies.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Practical knowledge of CISCO networking technologies.
  • ITIL certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level technology problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • CCNA/CCNP certifications are also required.
